Ms. Seema Tiwari, the founder of Tarini, comes with vast industry experience. Before, she was Head- Corporate Social Responsibility at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. As Head-CSR, she supported 14 diverse businesses in Godrej to initiate various social and environment high impact programs. Seema actively drove the Godrej Disha, a skills training program that impacted the lives of a hundred thousand underserved youth in rural and urban India. She had also formulated the community development strategy based on design thinking methods to bring in systemic change resulting in building sustainable communities. Because of her efforts and leadership, in 2016, 'The Godrej Good & Green' got recognized by Fortune in their top 50 global companies. Before Godrej, she started Embarq India, the sustainable transport India program, at World Resources Institute (WRI), a Washington DC group, working on climate change. Seema has also worked for the Ministry of Urban Development on capacity building for sustainable transport. Her interests in hand-made handloom and crafts, social entrepreneurship, multi-stakeholder management, poverty reduction and sustainable cities give her a unique edge in her entrepreneurial journey.
