Emelda Mwamanga is a global leader and women empowerment champion. She is the CEO and Principal Consultant of Relim Company Limited, a Human Resources and Logistics Consulting firm, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as well as the CEO of The East Africa Bang Media House which she started in 2004 with Bang! Magazine, a premier lifestyle magazine that captures inspiring stories of women overcoming odds to achieve success and impact.
In partnership with Vital Voices, a U.S. women empowerment non-profit co-founded by Hillary Clinton, Emelda hosted the first-ever Dare to Dream Mentorship Walk event in Tanzania in 2010.
She is an alumna of the U.S. State Department Fortune Most Powerful Women and Goldman Sachs 10 000 Women, leadership and business mentoring partnerships.
Emelda is also an honoree of numerous leadership recognition programs, including, the Global Aspen Leadership Forum, Africa Leadership Initiative, an Awardee of the Tanzania Women Achievement Award, Africa Most Influential Woman in Business and Governance, and the Women in Management Africa Award. She was also nominated for the 2012 'TIAW World of Difference Award in Washington DC, as one of the 100 people that has added the most value in the world.
She recently launched Pivoting in Heels, a coffee table collection of stories of notable Tanzania women leaders who had the courage to pivot during the pandemic, with a foreword by Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. She is currently working on publishing her latest book, Finding My Voice.
She graduated with a degree in Industrial, Organization, and Labor Studies from the University of Cape Town.
She lives in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Outside of work, Emelda cherishes each moment she gets with her incredible daughter, Gabrielle.
