Kavitha Rajesh

State President, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh

A commerce graduate who later graduated in law from Osmania University, worked in several organizations holding different responsibilities in finance, marketing, and administration.

In 2002, at the age of 31, she seized an opportunity to start a paint industry. She ventured into manufacturing decorative, industrial, and specialized paints. Her paint company is called “Om Sai Andhra Paints” (OSAP), and her paints are marketed under the brand name “Gold Seal” paints. They supply paints to L&T, infrastructure firms, and OEMs.

Since 1995, Kavitha Rajesh has been a member of the “Association of Women Entrepreneurs of India” (ALEAP). She currently serves as the Secretary (formerly Treasurer) of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development for ALEAP and as Secretary for ALEAP IALA Industrial Estate.

She served as the President (2021-22) of the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA). This organization represents the interests of management professionals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, India.

She is also the Global Mentor at the International Startup Foundation (ISF).

The Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad ran an entrepreneur development program sponsored by Goldman Sachs, aiming to train 10,000 women globally. It was a 4-month certificate course by ISB. She was invited to attend the “South Asian Women Entrepreneur Symposium” hosted by the US Department of State in Dhaka in 2012. This symposium aims to explore the challenges and opportunities faced by women who own small and medium-sized enterprises. It also seeks to create cross-border economic linkages between women entrepreneurs and established business leaders across the South Asian region. In 2013, she was invited by the US Federal Government to participate in a voluntary leadership program for women entrepreneurs, VOLVIS.

She was invited by the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) as a special guest for their 21st TANA conference held from May 26th to 28th, 2017, in St. Louis. She spoke on empowering women and the flourishing small-scale industries in India. She was one of the 400 entrepreneurs selected from India for the Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES) held in Hyderabad in 2017, where she was addressed by the Prime Minister of India and Mrs. Ivanka Trump. Additionally, she attended the Empretec flagship capacity-building program of the United Nations Conference On Trade and Development (UNCTAD) aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) for sustainable development and inclusive growth.

She was among the invited guests from India for the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 22nd, 2019. This forum was a flagship platform for the 10,000 Women initiative by Goldman Sachs, providing business education and access to capital to women from 56 countries worldwide.

She is also one of the steering committee members of the US Consulate Alumni, supported by the Public Affairs Section of the US Consulate in Hyderabad. The alumni steering committee was officially launched by Consul General Mr. Joel Reifman on September 7th, for the years 2019 to 2020.
